8 WAYS TO USE OLIVE OIL IN YOUR BEAUTY ROUTINE

We all know that saying "your body is a temple". So, don't you think it's time we start treating it like one?

Let me tell you, when it comes to skincare, the best way to do that is to get back to basics. Take out those harsh, synthetic, chemical-filled creams, gels and cleansers and incorporate a little more extra virgin olive oil into your daily beauty routine. Your skin will thank you for it, trust me!

8 WAYS TO USE OLIVE OIL IN YOUR BEAUTY ROUTINE

1. USE THE OIL CLEANSING METHOD

I swear by this relaxing and rejuvinating way to clean our face. It takes as much time as it would to wash your face with soap. All I can say is... TRY IT!!

2. REMOVE YOUR MAKEUP

We've all used something or other to take our makeup off that has just stung our eyes or skin so badly!! Olive oil is a great, natural alternative to any of those other methods of removing makeup. It works wonderfully and is super nourishing to the skin, especially that slowly but surely aging skin!

3. GIVE YOUR HAIR THE ROYAL TREATMENT

Our skin isn't the only part of our body that needs love, don't leave your hair behind! Use this rejuvenating hot oil hair treatment to help with dry, brittle hair.

4. USE IT IN A FACE MASK

We all love to treat ourselves to a face mask every once in a while! Olive oil is a great liquid base to use in any kind of face mask, here are some fun combinations to try out...

  • Avocado + Olive Oil Face Mask
  • Clay + Olive Oil Face Mask
  • Olive Oil + Honey Face Mask

5. SHAVE

Olive oil can give a really close, moisturizing SHAVE!! Who would have thought, am I right?! It is so amazing when it comes to shaving, you may never use anything else again!

6. MASSAGE YOUR ENTIRE BODY

Let's be real, we all use some form of moisturizer, so why not use something that will really give back to your skin? Olive oil is rich in squalene, vitamins E & K, polyphenols, it is anti-inflammatory, and has many other skin rejuvenating properties. It makes for a wonderful massage oil and a great post-shower moisturizer!

7. OIL PULL

Oil pulling is an amazing habit to create for your beauty regimen. Not only will it help whiten your teeth(!!!), it will also help pull toxins and infections out of your body. For more information on how to oil pull, check out this blog post...Grab Your Favorite EVOO, Rinse, Repeat.

8. EXFOLIATE

One of my favorite ways to get some EVOO into my beauty regimen is to add it to some sea salt or brown sugar and exfoliate with it. Go crazy and add some essential oils and other nutritive oils, such as lavender essential oil and rosehip oil. Here is how I like to do it...Brown Sugar Olive Oil Face Scrub.
